1st Day of Kindergarten!

Today was a HUGE day!  Well, sort of.  It was a bit of tease, but I'm still considering it Hayden's official first day of Kindergarten!  Class was only 1 hour long, and the parents stayed for that hour, so it was an orientation of sorts.  Tomorrow, he'll go for the full Kindergarten day, no parents allowed!

But, today was exciting in its own right!  Of course we had to do some pictures on the front porch. . .

And a few with good friend, Jameson, who stopped by to walk to school together.

After sitting for a few seconds, they were off, so excited to get to school!

We also met up with Charlie, our neighbor, who is Hayden's class.

After our 10 minute walk, we arrived at school, brimming with excitement!  We found Hayden's room and were greeted by his sweet teacher.

After a brief tour of the classroom, he met up with another buddy, Teddie.

Then, the teacher sang a song allowing each child the chance to introduce themselves.

Next, she read The Kissing Hand, a sweet story about a young racoon going off to school for the first time, and she gave each student a heart sticker to come give to their mom (which follows the plot of the book).

The kids got a tour of the school from the principal, while the parents got some of the less-exciting details from the teacher.  Then, we walked home, packed a picnic and headed to the pool for one last day of summer!  Tomorrow, the real journey begins!

Ten on Tuesday: Grammy & Grandpa's House

We spent a full week at Rich's parents house in July and our days were kept very busy!  Here's a glimpse of ten of the things the boys loved doing at Grammy & Grandpa's house:

 1.  Helping with chores.

2.  Playing with trucks in the dirt.

3.  Looking impossibly adorable exploring the backyard with no shirts on.

4.  Drawing on the driveway with chalk.

5.  Playing hide-and-seek in the clothesline.

6.  Launching foam rockets.

7.  Doing some serious work at Daddy's childhood desk.

8.  Visiting the Automobile Museum and Sitting in a race car at Hummelstown's 250th Anniversary.

9.  Playing the piano with Grammy.

10.  Keeping tabs on the neighboring barn cat, O.J.

11.  (One more for good measure!) Daddy really loved playing with his old toys!

We had even more adventures, but those are deserving of their own posts!
