Daddy's Home!

One of my favorite times of day is right around 5 p.m. The boys and I are usually in the family room when we hear that tell-tale squeak of the garage door opening and footsteps walking through the door. Hayden loudly and gleefully declares, "Daddy's Home!" and makes a dash for the door. Benjamin's face lights up and he lets out a little squeal of joy as he crawls quickly for the door right behind his brother. Even Maggie runs over with wagging tale to say hello.

It's just about the most adorable thing ever. We do love Daddy around here!

Safety First

Our new found little baby-on-the-go is enjoying his independence (so am I, actually). No more so than when we're playing outside! He picked up his cruising skill just in time--with most of the snow melted from our yard and spring on our doorsteps we'll be spending more time playing out there. And I much prefer him on his feet than on his hands and knees in the dirt.

When we first took him outside to play a few days ago, the fact that concrete is much harder than carpet did not escape me. In fact, it made me just a tad bit nervous to watch Ben go cruising down the gently sloped driveway on wobbly legs. So, we put safety first. . .

The helmet stayed on just long enough for me to snap these few photos, then he pulled it off and raced down the driveway with a look of "oh, mom, chill out!"

Boys will be boys, I guess!

I Heart Faces - Dramatic B&W

A few weeks ago I posted a photo for the I Heart Faces weekly challenge. It was so much fun I decided to participate again this week with a Dramatic B&W photo.

And in case you missed it, you can see this same little sweetie 6 months later over on my business blog!

Friday Favorites

I'm still way behind on personal pictures. . . I haven't really gotten to anything that I've taken in the last 10 days. And I take pictures of my family every single day, so you can see how they start to pile up. Not to mention the massive amount of pictures still sitting in a computer folder in RAW format that I took when we were in Alabama last month. I'm not giving up hope of one day getting to the ones I took when we were in Florida last November, either.

Have I mentioned before that I need about 3 extra hours every day? Or a full time nanny and housekeeper? Sigh. Things have been busy over on the business blog this week, though, so be sure to check that out.

All I could muster for today is 1 photo of each of my boys. They're 2 of my favorites from recent days, so in this case quality will make up for quantity!

Happy Friday!

Ski Days

Now that it's officially spring, I figured it was a good time to recap our ski season. I didn't do a very good job keeping up with posting our winter season activities as they happened, but as you'll see, we had a great time.

There were speedy days (Rich racing). . .

Mom getting the real workout days (30 pound Chariot + 50 pounds of kid = VERY heavy!). . .

There were "I can't believe my boy is 3 and he loves skiing" days. . .

There were dog days. . .

And gorgeous, beautiful, blue, big sky Montana days. . .

There were Dad getting the ultimate workout days. . .

And days to practice a little alpine technique. . .

(with our 3-year-old friend!). . .

Ride along with mom and watch the fun days. . .

And there were fall down and be silly days. . .

Hit the local trails days. . .

And, finally, be the most adorable, bundled-up little winter baby days. . .

But most of all, any day spent on skis was a great day!
